The scooter came earlier than expected, how great was that! Assembly was very easy. The scooter took no time to get used to and I’m riding it 3 times a week to my gym. I live in Brooklyn< NY where it's very difficult a car, so I use the bike for local errands. It's great.

Great trike. Easy to manuever. Top mate replied with the battery info I need to travel.

  3. chioma

Easy to maneuver, fairly light weight and better than some others, folds easly, it came with a front basket, Head light with horn and tool kit , very easy to assemble, also is very sturdy, really like it
update after 9 months is that its been very use full and the battery lasts a long time, the folding lock on the front fender is poor, has broke off twice and should be metal and not plastic so i recommend getting a velcro strap at walmart thats not elastic which will work better, also when using 3rd speed it can go 17mph which is pretty fast and feels unstable , i use 2nd speed most of the time, so far still happy with the trike

Excellent choice for people who still can walk around. I’m 60yrs. Light as a feather. I took all suggestions and purchasd the bike seat everyone recommended. Fast, maneuverable. You must still be flexible in order to lean-to and fro when turning. I have not had to charge the battery since initially charging the bike.

This is a really great scooter. It’s easy to fold and can make tight turns in our small house around hallway corners and rooms. I’m not confident a 4-wheel scooter can do that. The 3 different speed settings makes it easy to go slow in the house or “open it up” outside.

This scooter has made my life so much easier. I can enjoy activities with the family that involve lots of walking. It goes fast. It folds up easily. My grandson loves riding with his nana on it. I can get it out of my minivan but I can’t lift it into it. It’s definitely heavy. But hubby can handle it with no problem.

I have nothing but praise for this bike. Came assembled and in mint condition have traveled with it for a month now and it has been amazing. It folds up small, it’s easy to carry, I can put it in my car and go to Disney and all kinds of places, great.

This is a review of the ES-33. Having owned and used Topmate scooters over the last 6 years and used them as “other power driven mobility devices” (ADA) during world travel I feel I have the experience to judge this item. I have owned the ES-18, ES-30, ES-31, ES-32, and now the ES-33. I have always been impressed with NIPAITechnology as a company. They have always been responsive to messages and inquiries. They have aggressively responded to customer input and the changes I see in the new ES-33 appears to be the results of those inputs. I briefly owned the ES-32 just prior to the ES-33 listing coming out on Amazon. They told me they would no longer make the ES-31 and didn’t tell me the ES-33 was coming out. I would not recommend the ES-32/35 for travel, even though they meet legal requirements to be transported on airlines.. They are too big for airline wheelchair cabinets, cruise cabin, closets, escalators, elevators, etc. The ES-32 is too unstable at higher speeds.
The ES-33 is an all around more beefy feeling scooter than it’s predecessors. The gooseneck and it’s locking mechanism is bigger and stronger. The foot rests are larger. The head tube has been strengthened to offset the loss of strength by the removable battery compartment. The battery’s watt hours is increased by 11 watts. The motor size remains the same. I really like the locking mechanism that secures the head tube and down tube (axle tube) together, brilliant. Much better than the front fender tab and clip on the ES-30 and 31. The ES-31 tends to lean backwards in the direction of the seat about 1 to 2 degrees making it a little unstable in the folded upright position. The ES-33 doesn’t do this and is very stable in the folded upright position.
Even though I don’t like spring seats this one doesn’t feel mushy and is very comfortable. The 3 extra pounds is negligible compared to the improvements over the ES-31. They have gone to a removable battery now which was not really necessary to transport on airlines, however, a lot of airline employees believe they need to be removed. The law says they don’t. But having a removable battery has an advantage in that one can purchase an additional battery ($165) and double the range. The battery is 10″x3″x2.5″ and weighs 4 lbs.. Smart move on NIPAITechnology’s part. The battery’s contacts are female and can be easily taped over for airline travel.
My only concern is the connection between the down tube and rear axle. During turns and when the 8″ tires hit objects the axle moves forward and backward on a horizontal plane to the down tube. If you sit on it and lean side to side you can see this. That twisting caused cracking in the down tube on my ES-30. I have to admit it took a lot of twisting. The streets of Rome were cobblestone. I had it welded as a repair. On the ES-31 they installed a shock absorption system that seemed to have solved the problem. On the ES-33 it is absent.
I am very impressed with the improvements and design of the ES-33. I highly recommend this for travel (not the ES-32/35). NOTE: Tire pressure is key to saving battery life. I suggest you get a manual bicycle pump with a built in pressure guage.
UPDATE: Four months into traveling with this I discovered at the end of a flight that the footrest hinge pin was partially out. Apparently the knurling at the end of the pin is not sufficient enough to serve its purpose. I got lucky as I would hate to have lost the footrest and pin in the cargo hold of an Airbus 330 jet. This same problem happened with my ES-30. Topmate has failed to address this manufacturing problem. I also found that they have not resolved a brake cable problem. The stiffness of the cable and the constant turning of the front fork causes the cable to push upwards into the head tube away from the wheel. As the cable shortens the protective vinyl covering of the cable is chewed through by rubbing on the edge of the wheel fork. This “pushing upward” of the cable also dislodged it from the cable cover seat at the brake end causing brake failure. I gave them resolutions to both of these problems when I was using my ES-30, but to no avail as they were not addressed on the new ES-33.
UPDATE: I replaced the pins with M5-0.8 x 70 8.8ZP hex bolts and matching hex lock nuts with nylon inserts. Guaranteed not to fall out!
I pulled down on the brake cable cover to give it enough slack to clear the fender when turning. I then modified a cable crimp loop or ferule (aluminum) so that I could crimp it to the brake cable just below the head tube to keep the cable from riding up into the head tube.
NOTE: In repsonse to the reviewer above the seat actually adjusts up and down by turning the knob shown in the photo, but it is only a 2-3″ difference. Not the normal adjustment found on a regular bicycle.

This trike fills my need to avoid excessive walking at events without looking like I’m riding a mobility aid.

It’s well designed and built. Common sense should tell you that it won’t be overly stable, especially at the 15 mph max, and it isn’t. But, it is just fine as a walking substitute.

My scooter did not arrive assembled which had me worried at first but i soon became surprisingly aware of how simple the task was. The wiring is already done for you so its actually a piece of cake. The wiring is already done for you so its actually a piece of cake. Believe me, if this unmechanical moron can put it together…than anyone can! So easy to fold and lift. So far i have taken it to the mall for a day of shopping. It was great. Smooth ride if you dont speed otherwise i can see some balance issues. Smooth ride if you dont speed otherwise i can see some balance issues. i highly recommend this nifty little tricycle! Best of all, it has a removable battery, so it’s easy to take on an airplane!
